Diez denuncia envenenamiento de canguro
Pide ayuda a la gobernadora
Orizaba, Ver.— El alcalde de Orizaba, Juan Manuel Diez Francos, informó que el canguro “Skippy”, alojado en la Unidad de Manejo Ambiental (UMA), murió el pasado 25 de abril a consecuencia de un envenenamiento deliberado.
En rueda de prensa, el edil denunció que este hecho fue aprovechado para atacar políticamente al Ayuntamiento y que ya existe una carpeta de investigación abierta ante la Fiscalía.
Diez Francos explicó que la UMA fue creada en 2008 durante su primera administración para dar asilo a animales abandonados, especialmente después de la prohibición de su uso en circos.
A lo largo de los años, dijo, se han rescatado y protegido decenas de especies, entre ellas tigres y leones que de otra forma habrían muerto.
Respecto al caso del canguro, detalló que “Skippy”, había sido intercambiado por un cachorro de león y se encontraba en el Coliseo La Concordia debido a reparaciones en su recinto habitual.
Durante un recorrido de vigilancia el 25 de abril, el veterinario municipal halló al canguro agonizante y, a pesar de los esfuerzos médicos, falleció a las 8:46 horas. Una necropsia posterior confirmó el envenenamiento, probablemente con sustancias tipo “warfarinas”.
El alcalde señaló directamente a dos medios locales —El Buen Tono e Isaías Muñoz— como “sospechosos” de estar involucrados en la difusión temprana del hecho.
Afirmó que entraron sin autorización a las instalaciones municipales para fotografiar el cuerpo del animal antes de que se realizara la necropsia, cuando oficialmente aún no se había comunicado su muerte.
“Estoy presuponiendo que quien mató al canguro fue quien avisó a los medios”, acusó el munícipe, quien consideró el ataque como parte de una estrategia electoral para desprestigiar a su administración.
“No vamos a permitir que sigan usando animales indefensos para generar tendencias políticas”, agregó.
La carpeta de investigación quedó asentada bajo el número F318/2025, y el presidente municipal anunció que solicitará el apoyo de la gobernadora Rocío Nahle para garantizar que se haga justicia.
Cuestionado sobre posibles fallas en la seguridad de la UMA, Diez Francos reconoció que sería imposible poner policías en cada jaula y defendió el trabajo del personal veterinario, asegurando que los animales reciben alimentos frescos y de alta calidad.
Finalmente, subrayó que, mientras esté en funciones, se mantendrá la protección de los animales resguardados en Orizaba y pidió “mayor altura política” a quienes, según él, están usando el caso con fines electorales.

Paso del Macho, Ver.– Maestros del Consejo Nacional de Fomento Educativo (CONAFE) de los municipios de Paso del Macho, Atoyac, Manlio Fabio Altamirano y Tepatlaxco se manifestaron este día para exigir a la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) mejores condiciones laborales y salarios dignos.
Los docentes bloquearon la carretera a la entrada de Paso del Macho como parte de una protesta simultánea que obligó a la suspensión de actividades en diversas aulas de comunidades rurales, en tanto no exista una respuesta favorable a sus demandas por parte de las autoridades educativas.
Los manifestantes señalaron que, pese a desempeñar labores docentes en zonas de alta marginación, los apoyos económicos que reciben resultan insuficientes frente a la carga de trabajo y las responsabilidades que asumen dentro de las comunidades donde prestan sus servicios.
Con pancartas en mano, los docentes expusieron consignas como “Trabajo digno, sueldo digno”, “El trabajo comunitario también merece justicia”, “Respeto a la labor educativa” y “Justicia para los trabajadores de CONAFE”, con las que buscan visibilizar su inconformidad.
Indicaron que la protesta forma parte de una movilización a nivel regional, alineada con demandas que se replican en otros puntos del país, donde integrantes de CONAFE solicitan una revisión de los esquemas de apoyo, así como el reconocimiento formal de su labor educativa.
Los docentes advirtieron que mantendrán el paro de actividades y las movilizaciones en tanto no se establezca un canal de diálogo con la SEP que permita avanzar en la atención de sus exigencias.

Ixhuatlán Del Café, Ver.- El Ayuntamiento de Ixhuatlán Del Café se encuentra realizando trabajos de mantenimiento del parque Miguel Hidalgo, uno de los espacios más emblemáticos del municipio que fue recibido en malas condiciones por la actual administración, el cual la alcaldesa, Viridiana Bretón Feito, instruyó que se iniciara de inmediato con las acciones de embellecimiento para tenerlo presentable durante los días de feria.
Con el objetivo de mejorar la imagen urbana y ofrecer áreas más dignas, seguras y funcionales para las familias, se encuentran realizando diversas labores como el mantenimiento del kiosco, la mejora de andadores, jardinería, iluminación y mobiliario urbano, acciones que también buscan fortalecer la convivencia social y el disfrute de los espacios públicos.
La alcaldesa Viridiana Bretón Feito reiteró su compromiso de impulsar un proyecto integral de embellecimiento urbano, que no solo incluye el arreglo del parque y su kiosco, sino también la rehabilitación de la fuente y otros espacios públicos estratégicos del municipio.
Los trabajos del parque se estarán efectuando hasta el 15 de febrero, fecha en la que se pausaran las labores para dar paso a la feria y posteriormente realizar una segunda etapa complementaria para arreglar la fuente musical, misma que se encontraba inundada en su sistema hidráulico, así como inservible el equipo electrónico que se requiere para su correcto funcionamiento.
Estas acciones forman parte de una visión de gobierno orientada al bienestar ciudadano, al rescate de áreas comunes y al fortalecimiento de la identidad de Ixhuatlán Del Café; con estas acciones, la administración municipal reafirma su propósito de construir un entorno más ordenado, atractivo y funcional, que contribuya al desarrollo social y turístico del municipio.

Festejar aniversario de Atoyac
Atoyac, Ver.– Con una nutrida participación de ciclistas locales y de la región, se llevó a cabo la Ruta “110 Años de Historia en Atoyac”, actividad organizada en el marco de las acciones de promoción turística y deportiva del municipio.
El evento reunió a familias y aficionados al ciclismo que recorrieron distintos puntos representativos, en un ambiente de orden y convivencia.
El H. Ayuntamiento de Atoyac expresó su agradecimiento a las y los participantes por el entusiasmo mostrado, así como al Club Emperadores de Padelma, encabezado por Anallely Gutiérrez Silverio y Mario Alavid Moreno, por la colaboración brindada para la realización de esta ruta ciclista, la cual permitió una adecuada coordinación y desarrollo del recorrido.
