Ixtaczoquitlán, Ver. – Ante la represión del alcalde Augusto Nahúm Álvarez Pellico, pobladores, quienes exigen agua potable, incendiaron dos vehículos y causaron severos destrozos en el Palacio Municipal.
El motivo de la protesta fue exigir al alcalde Augusto Nahúm Álvarez Pellico una solución inmediata al problema de desabastecimiento de agua que ha afectado al municipio por semanas.
Sin embargo, lejos de atender las demandas de los ciudadanos, el alcalde optó por intimidarlos utilizando la fuerza pública al querer desalojarlos de la manifestación que realizaban desde hace unos días.
Esta respuesta solo exacerbó la ira de los manifestantes, quienes se sintieron aún más ignorados y reprimidos.
Desde el interior del Palacio, la Policía lanzó piedras y gas lacrimógeno a los protestantes.
El uso de la fuerza pública por parte del alcalde, en lugar de buscar un diálogo y una solución pacífica, reveló una grave falta de empatía y una ineficaz gestión de la crisis.
La incapacidad de proporcionar un recurso básico como el agua y la posterior represión de la protesta no solo demuestran una incompetencia administrativa, sino también un profundo desprecio por las necesidades de la comunidad.

Córdoba, Ver.— El Ayuntamiento, encabezado por el alcalde Sergio Ángel Velázquez Rivera, llevó a cabo trabajos de rehabilitación en la comunidad de Santa Teresa, con el objetivo de mejorar las condiciones de acceso y tránsito para sus habitantes.
Las acciones fueron ejecutadas a través de la Dirección de Maquinaria y Transporte, que intervino caminos de la localidad para optimizar la movilidad en la zona, facilitando el traslado diario de la población.
De acuerdo con autoridades municipales, estas labores forman parte de una estrategia enfocada en atender necesidades prioritarias en materia de infraestructura comunitaria, especialmente en zonas que requieren mejores vías de comunicación.
Se destacó que la rehabilitación de caminos no solo permite un tránsito más seguro, sino que también impulsa el desarrollo social y económico de las comunidades al facilitar el acceso a servicios y actividades productivas.
El gobierno municipal reiteró su compromiso de continuar trabajando de manera cercana a la ciudadanía, mediante acciones que impacten directamente en la calidad de vida de las familias.
Finalmente, se informó que este tipo de intervenciones se mantendrán en distintas localidades del municipio como parte de un programa permanente de mejoramiento de infraestructura.

El proceso electoral se llevó a cabo en 10 localidades del municipio, donde la ciudadanía participó para elegir a sus representantes comunitarios, quienes fungirán como enlace directo entre la población y el Ayuntamiento.
Durante la sesión, el presidente municipal, Juan Carlos Rojas Castro, hizo un llamado a quienes resultaron electos a privilegiar la unidad, el trabajo coordinado y el compromiso social, con el objetivo de generar mejores condiciones de desarrollo en sus comunidades.
Señaló que la labor de los agentes y subagentes será clave para atender las necesidades más apremiantes de la población, por lo que exhortó a desempeñar sus funciones con responsabilidad y cercanía con la ciudadanía.
Las autoridades informaron que las y los nuevos representantes rendirán protesta de ley el próximo 1 de mayo, fecha en la que asumirán formalmente el cargo.
Por su parte, la Junta Municipal Electoral reconoció el respaldo del Cabildo durante las distintas etapas del proceso, lo que permitió que la jornada se desarrollara en un ambiente de legalidad, certeza y orden.

Cuitláhuac, Ver.– La reapertura del ingenio El Carmen, en la comunidad de Cuautlapan, Ixtaczoquitlán, no tiene condiciones viables en el corto ni mediano plazo, debido a su complicada situación financiera y a la pérdida de su zona cañera, aseguró el dirigente nacional de la Unión Nacional de Productores de Caña de Azúcar (UNPCA-CNC), Javier Sánchez Chávez.
El líder cañero advirtió que el entorno en el que operaba la factoría ha cambiado de manera significativa en los últimos años, principalmente por el crecimiento urbano en municipios como Ixtaczoquitlán y Orizaba, lo que redujo de forma considerable las tierras destinadas al cultivo de caña.
En ese contexto, explicó que la operación de un ingenio depende directamente de su capacidad de abasto, por lo que la falta de materia prima representa uno de los principales obstáculos para cualquier intento de reactivación.
“Puedes tener instalaciones en buen estado, pero si no hay caña suficiente en la región, simplemente no hay qué procesar”, expuso.
Sánchez Chávez reconoció que ha existido interés por parte de actores políticos y empresarios en rescatar el ingenio; sin embargo, sostuvo que los números no respaldan un proyecto de reapertura en las condiciones actuales.
Precisó que la empresa arrastra adeudos superiores a los 2 mil 500 millones de pesos, cifra que rebasa su valor real, lo que complica cualquier esquema de inversión o rescate financiero.
Aunado a ello, indicó que se mantienen pendientes de pago con productores cañeros por aproximadamente 60 millones de pesos, situación que genera desconfianza y limita aún más la posibilidad de reactivar operaciones.
Durante su visita a la región, donde sostuvo un encuentro con abastecedores del ingenio San José de Abajo, el dirigente llamó a los productores a mejorar la calidad de la caña para fortalecer la competitividad del sector.
