Atoyac, Ver. – La zafra 2025–2026 podría no arrancar. En el corazón cañero de México, el descontento se convirtió en desesperación tras el anuncio del nuevo precio del azúcar: $10,100 por tonelada para la zafra 2024–2025 y $14,000 para las preliquidaciones 2025–2026, una cifra que rompe toda estabilidad en el campo y amenaza con paralizar al sector más importante de Veracruz.

El ajuste, emitido por la Conadesuca y la CNIAA, es visto como un golpe mortal para miles de familias que dependen de la caña. El precio base —que llegó a superar los $16,000 por tonelada— cayó más de 2 mil pesos, dejando a los productores en números rojos y sin recursos para financiar la próxima siembra.

“Con este precio no hay manera de sostener la zafra. Estamos quebrados, endeudados y sin esperanza”, expresó un representante cañero del ingenio San Nicolás, mientras advertía que cientos de productores podrían abandonar sus parcelas antes de diciembre.

En ingenios como El Potrero, La Providencia, El Modelo y San José de Abajo, la situación es crítica: no hay dinero para pagar deudas, ni remanentes, ni los costos de corte y acarreo. Los cañeros afirman que la zafra está técnicamente suspendida, pues no existen condiciones mínimas para iniciar los trabajos.

La crisis golpea al estado con más ingenios del país —18 en total— y que aporta casi el 40 % de la producción nacional. Veracruz ha molido más de 9.7 millones de toneladas de caña en la última temporada, pero los ingresos no alcanzan ni para cubrir los gastos básicos, que rebasan los $70,000 por hectárea.

“Nos están empujando al abandono del campo”, lamentó otro productor de La Providencia. “Ya no es rentable sembrar caña; el precio no cubre ni la mitad del esfuerzo”.

A la debacle económica se suma una sequía prolongada, el aumento del costo del diésel y los fertilizantes, y la competencia desleal de edulcorantes importados, que inundan el mercado y desplazan al azúcar nacional.

Sin apoyos, sin crédito y sin certidumbre, el futuro del sector se oscurece. Más de 70 mil familias veracruzanas viven hoy con la incertidumbre de perderlo todo. Si no hay una intervención urgente del gobierno federal y una revisión inmediata del precio base, la próxima zafra podría no arrancar, marcando el principio del colapso del campo cañero mexicano.

Fortín fortalece acciones contra el gusano barrenador

Fortín, Ver. – Ante la detección de un caso confirmado de gusano barrenador en un perro callejero en la cabecera municipal y tres más sospechosos, en lomitos de Monte Blanco, colonia San Martín y Palo Alto, el Ayuntamiento de Fortín, a través de la Coordinación de Ecología y Medio Ambiente, realizó la plática “Fortalecimiento de la Estrategia Nacional de Atención a la Emergencia por el Gusano Barrenador”.

La charla informativa tuvo lugar en las instalaciones de la sala de cabildos, dado el interés del gobierno que, encabeza el alcalde, Lic. Alfonso Efraín “Piccolo” Marín Delfín, y la cual reunió a médicos veterinarios, productores ganaderos, activistas defensores de animales y ciudadanía, con el propósito de informar y reforzar las acciones de prevención y atención ante esta problemática, además de coordinar esfuerzos entre autoridades, especialistas y productores para contener la propagación de la plaga.

Fue la Ing. Guadalupe Pérez Bravo, facilitadora de la Ruta 10 del programa “Sembrando Vida”, en representación del Servicio Nacional de Sanidad, Inocuidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (SENASICA), quien expuso la situación sanitaria en relación al gusano barrenador en el municipio, al tiempo de reconocer la disposición que han tenido las áreas involucradas para hacer frente a la contingencia.

En la presentación se detalló sobre la toma de muestras y procesos de encalamiento, además de la atención a fauna canina en situación de calle. En el caso en Monte Blanco, intervinieron en su momento, las áreas de Fomento y Desarrollo Agropecuario, Ecología y Medio Ambiente con apoyo de IMSS-Bienestar logrando la curación del canino.

La funcionaria alertó que, existen casos confirmados en humanos a nivel nacional y estatal, por lo que se actualizan los reportes cada tercer día. Por ello, reiteró la importancia de la responsabilidad ciudadana en el cuidado de mascotas y animales de compañía, como medida clave para prevenir la propagación.

A la ponencia asistieron la regidora segunda Laura Karina Lezama, la regidora cuarta Daniela Aguilar, la coordinadora de Salud Municipal, Rosario Merino Domínguez, quien se sumó al llamado de la prevención ante el riesgo de la plaga en los humanos, respaldando el compromiso de proteger la salud pública y el bienestar animal.

Omealca, Ver.– Con el objetivo de fortalecer las acciones en materia de seguridad y promover la participación ciudadana, se llevó a cabo la Sesión de Instalación del Consejo de Seguridad Pública Municipal y del Comité de Participación Ciudadana 2026.

En representación del alcalde, la síndica Jannia Medina Cervantes encabezó el acto, acompañada por integrantes del Cabildo, donde se destacó que la seguridad es una responsabilidad compartida entre autoridades y sociedad.

Durante la sesión se formalizó la integración del Comité de Participación Ciudadana, el cual fungirá como enlace directo entre la población y el gobierno municipal para canalizar inquietudes y propuestas en materia de prevención del delito.

Para dar validez al proceso, se contó con la presencia de Carlos Flores Rodríguez, coordinador de Vinculación con Consejos Municipales de Seguridad Pública, así como de la actuaria municipal Milagros Lara Damián.

El comité quedó conformado por Ángel Gabriel Mora Cruz como presidente; Sarahí Ixchel Rodríguez Marcial como secretaria; además de Gaspar Martínez Martínez, Rossi Maribel Cid Ranauro, Rubicela Contreras Morgado, Lucila Viveros Zepeda y Raymundo Huerta Vidal como vocales.

Autoridades municipales señalaron que con esta instalación se busca reforzar la coordinación institucional y fomentar la participación activa de la ciudadanía, a fin de mantener condiciones de tranquilidad y orden en el municipio.

Amatlán de los Reyes, Ver.– El municipio mantiene saldo blanco hasta el momento como parte del operativo de Semana Santa 2026, el cual continúa en marcha con vigilancia en distintos puntos.

De acuerdo con el director de Protección Civil municipal, Luis Arturo Herrera Salinas, las actividades religiosas y la afluencia en centros recreativos se han desarrollado sin incidentes mayores, gracias a la coordinación entre corporaciones de seguridad y cuerpos de emergencia.

Entre las acciones implementadas destacan los recorridos preventivos en balnearios y zonas de esparcimiento, con el objetivo de salvaguardar la integridad de los visitantes durante el periodo vacacional.

Asimismo, se mantiene presencia en procesiones y actos litúrgicos de los Días Santos, donde la participación de fieles se ha llevado a cabo en orden.

En materia de atención ciudadana, personal de auxilio ha brindado servicios médicos básicos, principalmente por mareos, toma de presión y descompensaciones en personas con enfermedades crónicas, sin que se reporten casos de gravedad.

El funcionario destacó que el comportamiento responsable de la población ha sido clave para mantener un ambiente de tranquilidad, por lo que exhortó a continuar con las medidas preventivas.

El operativo se mantiene activo en puntos estratégicos del municipio para garantizar la seguridad de habitantes y visitantes durante el periodo vacacional.
